Papers
Papers is a new documentary film about undocumented youth. Papers is the story of undocumented youth and the challenges they face as they turn 18 without legal status.
There are approximately 2 million undocumented children who were born outside the U.S. and raised in this country. These are young people who were educated in American schools, hold American values, know only the U.S. as home and who, simply by turning 18, become "illegal" immigrants. Currently, there is no path to citizenship for these young people. Graham Street
Productions produced the film in partnership with Film Action Oregon. The film was produced in association with El Grupo Juvenil (the "Papers" Youth Crew), who were actively involved in all aspects of the production.
Molina Soleil & Aju have been involved with Papers in various capacities. Molina made trips to Portland, Oregon in October 2008 and March 2009 to perform at benefit fundraisers for the film. Molina also put together a benefit cd to raise money and awareness for
the film. "My America" features artists from across the United States, from the Bay Area to Harlem, produced by CHiTT Productions. Molina was later approached by Graham Street Productions to serve as Music Supervisor for the film, which features original music by Molina Soleil & Aju, Mannequin Rituals, and DJ Icewater.
